Company Summary:
OncoPep Inc, is an early clinical-stage biotechnology company (Cambridge, MA) focused on developing immunotherapeutics (specifically peptide-based cancer vaccines and non-engineered T cells for the treatment of cancer). The Company’s lead drug candidate is PVX-410, an HLA-restricted, multi-peptide vaccine targeting tumor antigens overexpressed in hematologic and solid tumors. To date, PVX-410 has been evaluated in Phase 1 trials evaluating safety and immunogenicity in patients with Multiple Myeloma (MM) and Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) and is currently in a Phase 2 clinical trial for TNBC.

Position Description:
We are looking to expand our Research team by recruiting a Senior Research Associate to primarily work with in vivo tumor models and be responsible for validating the in vivo pharmacology and therapeutic pipeline developed by the company. We are seeking a candidate passionate about driving high-impact projects for our target discovery program. This candidate will be expected to perform routine in vivo pharmacology studies (including tumor growth kinetics, test tolerability, anti-tumor efficacy, biodistribution, pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, and immunogenicity studies). They will work with others across teams and functions in a highly collaborative atmosphere. This role will require broad knowledge of current concepts in cancer immunology and associated areas.

Requirements:

  • MS in a scientific discipline with 2+ years relevant industry experience, or BS in a scientific discipline with 5+ years’ experience
  • A candidate who loves to create novel, and impactful therapeutic approaches and is excited to translate scientific discoveries into cancer therapies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience culturing and maintaining human tumor cell lines and primary human cells, with best practices in tissue culture is important
  • Pharmacological agent administration via IM, IV, IP, and SC dosing routes
  • Implantation of cancer cell lines and tumor-derived material (SC and orthotopic)
  • Collection of serum/plasma/whole blood, tissues, primary tumor material and metastases
  • Mouse anesthesia/analgesia
  • Necropsy and tissue collection in rodents
